Education

After high school, I first joined the Army for 4 years, after which I started at Tulsa Community College for an Associates in liberal arts(AA), continued at Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow, earning by Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), and finally attended Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah for 4 years (OD).

Why did you become a optometrist?

As a child, I always had very positive experiences at my Optometrist’s office. The doctor and staff were so patient with me, even with my first ever contact lens fitting that I found challenging. Every year, I looked forward to my visit to the eye doctor and that first look though new glasses. I strongly believe that everyone deserves to have clear vision to be able to fully take in the world around them. I love being a part of helping with that!

Interesting Facts

I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After high school I joined the Army and lived in Germany, where I met my wife. Together, we are raising 2 amazing boys, aged 4 and 8. In 2020, we moved to Copenhagen, Denmark for my wife’s job and spent 3 1/2 years there, enjoying especially the big focus on outdoor activities. As a family, we enjoy hiking, biking, and skiing, and it was exciting to get to do this in Denmark and the rest of Europe. In Denmark, I also coached Football and Youth Hockey, volunteered as a bike chauffeur for people who could not enjoy the city on their own bikes due to physical or mental limitations, and was very involved in my children’s activities.
