Why did you become a Dentist?

The primary reason is working with kids.

What drew you to Hero’s Mission?

After owning my own practice for 17 years, I wanted something with less responsibilities so I can have more free time with my family.
I wanted to work for a company whose patients are diverse, as I have been treating the last 17 years. And I felt that Hero Orthodontics will provide this.

What is your community involvement?

Unfortunately not much. Most of my time the past 17 years was spent on my practice. Any free time I have would be spent with my wife and kids.

Interesting Facts

LOL. I am the most plain person you could think of. I came to the United States in 1980 as a refugee. I lived in Los Angeles for about 5 years before my family moved to the Bay Area. After undergrad, I spent 7 years in Ohio for school. I worked in Albuquerque, NM as a periodontist for 2 years and that is where I met my wife. We moved to Denver together in 2005 and have been here since. I have known my wife for 22 years (married for 17 years) and we have three children: Ayden (17 yo, senior in high school), Allyson (13yo, 8th grade), and Ethan (11 yo, 6th grade). Most of my free time I spend with my wife and children: we have game nights, movie nights, eating out, and traveling together.

Who is your favorite Super Hero and why?

I don’t really have one but if I had to choose, it would be Superman. He was the first Super Hero I saw and I grew up watching George Reeves in the Adventures of Superman and the original Superman movies with Christopher Reeve. I think the main reason why I liked the old Superman was for what he stood for: justice for all.

What still makes you a kid at heart?

I think I have always been a kid at heart. It is why I went back to become an orthodontist. When I was practicing periodontics, I was not as happy because I have to work mainly with adults. I like to joke around with kids and most of them are so innocent with everything that is happening around the world. And sometimes, I feel that if we were all kids at heart, maybe we wouldn’t have the problems we have now in the world.
