Why did you become a dentist?

My parents always instilled in me the importance of helping people and encouraged me to pursue a career in healthcare. I chose the field of dentistry because, as a kid, I excelled in science and math in school, but I also enjoyed various art forms like jewelry making and furniture restoration. Dentistry was the perfect combination of critical thinking skills and hands-on artistic abilities. While in dental school, I found orthodontics extremely interesting—every patient presents with different issues that require a unique treatment plan. I am detail-oriented, and I like seeing each patient progress over time until a beautiful smile is achieved!

Interesting Facts

I grew up and attended school in the Northeast: I lived in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York City. I made the decision to move to far-away New Mexico in 2018 because of the unique culture and numerous sunny days. On the weekends, I enjoy relaxing with my husband, Carlos, and going on long walks in the beautiful New Mexico weather while listening to podcasts. In the future, we hope to adopt alpacas and miniature donkeys!
